A Ban on CFLs (Screw & Bayonet Base) Effective on January 1st, 2024.

They are no longer available for sale in several States including the State of CA, OR, and RI – effective immediately.

Company News:

The State of CA had enacted a law (AB 2208) starting this week to phase out the CFLs (All Screw base & Bayonet base) bulbs in favor of LEDs.

AB 2208 would phase out fluorescent lamps in general lighting applications by banning the sales of the following

• Starting January 1^st, 2024: the sales of all CFLs (Screw & Bayonet Base) are prohibited in CA
• Starting January 1^st, 2025: the sales of all Linear Fluorescent Tubes (T5/T8 up to 8 feet in length) and PL (pin-base) bulbs are prohibited in CA

Affected Plusrite CFLs & Linear Fluorescent Tubes are as follows:
** State of CA (AB 2208), Oregon (HB2531), Rhode Island (2023-H 5550A)

Starting January 1^st, 2024, Plusrite CFLs products are not available for sale in States of CA, OR, RI including as follows:

1. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) – All sizes and types, including screw base & GU base

Starting January 1^st, 2025, Plusrite Linear Fluorescent products are not available for sale in States of CA, OR, RI including as follows:

1. Straight Fluorescent Tubes (T5 & T8) with pin-base up to 8 feet in length
2. Curve-shaped Fluorescent Tubes with pin-base including u-shaped, circular and others
3. PL lamps with pin-base

** State of Vermont (Act No. 120)

Starting January 1^st, 2024, Plusrite CFLs products are not available for sale in States of Vermont including as follows:

1. Straight Fluorescent Tubes (T5 & T8) with pin-base 4 feet in length. 
2. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) – All sizes and types, including screw base & GU-24 base.

** State of CO (HB23-1161), Maine (LD1814), and Hawaii (HB192/SB690):

Starting January 1^st, 2025, Plusrite CFLs products are not available for sale in States of CO, Maine, and HI including as follows:

1. Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) – All sizes and types, including screw base & GU-24 base

Starting January 1^st, 2026, Plusrite Linear Fluorescent products are not available for sale in the States of CO, Maine, and HI including as follows:

1. Straight Fluorescent Tubes (T5 & T8) with pin-base
2. PL lamps with pin-base

As a result of the new State regulations, various active Plusrite CFL lamps (both screw and bayonet/twist base) are no longer be available for sale in several states including CA. This is effective immediately.
